YOUNG AND IMPORTANT CINEMA

By Jesús Hernández, Diario Las Américas writer

Hoxton Film Night presents a selection of five short films, made by young filmmakers from Miami, at The Hoxton (1111 SW 1st Ave, Miami), on Sunday, August 11th at 7:30 pm.

Young filmmaker, Gabriel Rhenals, told DIARIO LAS AMERICAS that "Hoxton Film Night is a welcome dose of electricity to the heart of the fledgling indie film scene in Miami." Rhenals is the director of Semester of Madness, in which "unforeseen forces distort the perception of a college student."

"The event takes place in a wonderfully relaxed locale and always features a diverse array of short films," he adds.

In addition to Semester of Madness, the program also includes the following short films: Andy Rovira's Eating Lila, Aileen Michelle's Lost in Mind, Nicolas Pinzon's The Urologist and Andrea Seamans' Miami's Pitfall.
