In the late '90s, Hollywood filmmaking was awash in disaster or end-of-the-world epics. All desperately chasing that Independence Day or Titanic money, I suppose. In any case, one of my first, original cinematic ideas I had as a child was imagining the dramatic juxtaposition of catastrophic visuals inspired by that spate of destruction-laden Hollywood films with what I thought and still think is the hauntingly melancholic, hymnal-sounding "Let the Sunshine In" from the late '60s (begins at 2:18 below).
Felt like the right time to share this in the face of Irmageddon and all.
