After 4+ years of near-daily patronage, I must bid farewell to a peculiar nook of mine - a local Subway not more than a mile or two from my home. While my choice of retreat may suggest crass corporate capitulation on my part, the restaurant's reliable offering of peace, quiet and relative vacancy saw me routinely dining (i.e., re-fueling), thinking, writing, reading and making phone calls, often for hours at a time, at the corner table and stool by the window. Although I may have surrendered a bit of my indie ethos by doing so, I think I replenished what I lost and with interest by getting so much done there!
Anyway, now the search begins for a new haunt...
