Blog Post #68: Some Things Never Change!

Updated: Mar 31, 2022

Excerpts from an email I sent to the founder of a local film networking organization in Orlando during my first year of film school at UCF in 2006:

"I'd like to tell you more about myself. I got into film during high school about four years ago, and since then I have served as the writer, producer, director, cinematographer and editor for all of my short films which, to this day, number at three narratives and one documentary...

"...I've always tried to carry out the more logistical side of productions with several key ideas in mind: basing stories/content around available resources, adopting visual styles that maximize the use of very elementary tools, having very thorough pre-planning to greatly minimize time spent in production, and having a hope to encourage and promote a local, bottom-up movie production/distribution/exhibition center somewhere in Florida. Overall, that is my current standing as a student and aspiring filmmaker: interested in getting to know the business of more ambitious productions, retaining a love of thrifty maneuvering and wanting to keep it all local."

I've actually been shipping it for more than 13 years but this is the earliest evidence I could find.

True strength lies in remaining fixed and undeterred through the yawning stretch and harsh ravages of time. 🕰
