A day late but here's my belated contribution to International Women's Day:


This stirring moment and its moving performance by first-time actress, Keisha Castle-Hughes, captures a young Maori girl's simple act of hopeful defiance against the deeply rooted patriarchal traditions of her society during a grade school pageant.
